Alpine Golf & Sports Club Bangkok
Known as one of the top-rated golf courses in Thailand, the Alpine Golf & Sports Club is situated approximately 75-minutes from the center of Bangkok and is one of the most challenging courses in the region.
This 18-hole course is set over 7,044 yards from the back tees and was initially contrasted in 1996. Designed by the leading American golf course architect Ronal Garl, the course has hosted a myriad of pro events such as the PGA Tour’s Johnnie Walker Classic in 2000 and 2004. Tiger Woods actually won the 2000 event.
The course enjoys a parkland style and layout with lots of mature trees, shrubs, and undulating fairways. With a varying amount of elevations, this course is quite unique in a region that is largely home to flatlands.
Other defense mechanisms on the course are lots of water hazards and beach-style bunkers. The two island greens on the 7th and 11th holes are not just stunning but also challenging. The par-5 7th is one of the most difficult holes with its small green.
Most of the course’s greens slope from back to front, which at least gives golfers a great opportunity with their approach shots. However, with some tight fairways, it is important to be conservative and straight with your tee shots.
The Alpine Golf & Sports Club also enjoys some quality onsite facilities such as a large clubhouse with changing rooms, a pro shop, and two restaurants serving snacks and also Chinese cuisine.
If you are looking for a challenging course within driving distance of Bangkok, the Alpine Golf Club in Bangkok is the ideal choice.
